VizuCop, an innovative supplier of in-car surveillance solutions engineered exclusively for the law enforcement industry, today announced its release of VizuCop 360° systems. From camera capture to proprietary playback software, VizuCop 360°'s standard components protect video evidence for court admissibility, and VizuCop's new optional automated archiving system further secures and streamlines evidence management.

“Based on our research, the VizuCop 360° system’s unique design and features will bring needed reliability to the capturing of video, and our patent pending, automated archiving system will enhance ease of use in video retrieval,” said AngelTrax President Richie Howard. “Our total system provides a secure, automated process allowing the officer to focus on the task at hand.”

VizuCop 360° meets the specialized needs of officers in the field, complements standard law enforcement procedures and complies with the IACP in-car video system guidelines draft and the Federal Rules of Evidence. In response to growing demand and developed with input from law enforcement agencies across the country, the rugged-built VizuCop 360° surveillance system was initially introduced to the public last October at the IACP Expo in Philadelphia.

Engineered to endure the harsh and often dangerous conditions characteristic of police work, this all-in-one surveillance solution uses patented and patent pending AngelTrax technologies for more convenience in the field and greater detail in the evidence.

The HDXP8 mobile DVR begins recording automatically when blue lights are activated, when a pre-selected speed is exceeded or when a pre-selected alarm is triggered, and the DVR's manual recording function is easy to activate at the officer's discretion. The HDXP8 is capable of storing up to eight HD quality video and audio channels on a solid-state, slide-rail hard drive.

As an optional storage component, the patent pending VizuCop Automated Archiving System accommodates up to five slide-rail hard drives used in patrol vehicles and a key-locking, slide-rail, 1TB master hard drive. MotoLinx LE™, the VizuCop video clip archiving manager, automatically transfers video clips from each patrol hard drive onto the master hard drive, organizing clips into a hierarchy of self-created folders by vehicle, driver, event type and date.

When the archiving system is connected to the agency's video playback computer, all archived footage on the master hard drive can be reviewed, saved and shared. All audio and video data recorded by the VizuCop 360° system is encrypted and can only be viewed using VizuCop's proprietary playback software – preventing any digital tampering and ensuring the evidentiary chain of custody.

The patented windshield-mounted camera includes two HD quality lenses that allow officers to focus more on traffic stops and less on cameras. One lens captures an overview in front of the vehicle, and the other a clear shot of the suspect’s license plate, eliminating the need for an officer to manually focus the camera. VizuCop 360° also features a back seat suspect camera with smart infrared for nighttime capture and wireless microphones with a manual record button to trigger DVR recording.

A patented, space-saving replacement rearview mirror, with its integrated 5-inch color monitor, allows access to all camera views and GPS mapping technology for the driver and for the ride-along officer. The monitor’s position and angle can be modified independently of the mirror – leaving the rearview mirror position intact.

Available as optional elements of the VizuCop 360° system are the easy-to-use tagging pad and RFID reader. The patent-pending tagging pad allows the officer to mark video footage with the type of incident caught on camera and input the incident's case number once it is assigned.

With the push of a tagging pad button, the system takes a snapshot with either of the forward-facing dual lenses and, with wireless connection, sends the photo to three pre-selected email addresses. The tagging pad’s integrated RFID reader embeds the driver’s name into the video footage and allows for a seamless switch in drivers.

Its built-in wireless connectivity makes the VizuCop 360° system ideal for use with MotoTrax LE™, the VizuCop online mobile surveillance manager that collects and manages critical details on fleet operations and delivers notifications of vehicle events in real-time via text or email. MotoTrax LE also features real-time tracking and live view, empowering agencies with a constant stream of relevant data.
